Terms of Use

Effective September 11, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

By creating an account, uploading materials, purchasing or using a SlateGauge report, or otherwise accessing the service, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you are using SlateGauge on behalf of a company or production entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.

2. What SlateGauge provides

SlateGauge analyzes user-supplied project materials and inputs to produce automated coverage, market-positioning observations, financial scenarios, diligence prompts and related reports. Narrative analysis may use artificial-intelligence systems. Financial outputs are generated from software calculations and user-entered assumptions.

Reports are informational decision-support materials. They are not appraisals, fairness opinions, securities offerings, investment recommendations, guarantees of financing, distribution, sales, box office, recoupment or return.

3. Your responsibilities

4. Project materials and ownership

You retain ownership of materials you upload. You grant SlateGauge a limited right to host, process, transmit and analyze those materials solely as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain and improve the service. You represent that you have the rights and permissions required to submit the materials.

5. Automated analysis

Automated systems can make mistakes, omit context, misunderstand creative material or produce inaccurate statements. Scores, verdicts, comparable titles, risk flags and narrative observations should be treated as analytical inputs rather than facts. Human review and independent verification are required for material decisions.

6. Financial modelling and investment risk

Film investment is speculative and investors may lose all invested capital. Revenue cases and return scenarios are illustrative unless explicitly supported by verified external data. Actual outcomes may differ materially because of distribution terms, expenses, timing, taxes, residuals, participations, financing costs, market conditions and other factors.

7. Accounts and security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity conducted through your account. Notify SlateGauge support promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

8. Fees and purchases

When paid checkout is enabled, prices, taxes and applicable purchase terms will be shown before payment. Unless a different refund policy is displayed at checkout, completed analysis services are generally non-refundable once processing has begun, except where required by law or where SlateGauge elects to issue a credit or refund.

9. Complimentary access

Complimentary Studio Coverage credits may be issued at SlateGauge's discretion. They have no cash value, are non-transferable unless expressly authorized and may be revoked if unused or obtained through misuse.

10. Suspension and termination

SlateGauge may suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, other users, security, legal compliance or payment integrity. You may stop using the service at any time and may delete eligible projects through available account controls.

11. Availability and changes

The service may be changed, interrupted or discontinued. SlateGauge does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, a particular processing time or that every file will be readable or analyzable.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SlateGauge is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Mandatory rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SlateGauge and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or lost-profit damages arising from use of the service, reliance on a report, loss of data, financing decisions, production decisions or third-party conduct. Any non-excludable liability remains subject to applicable law.

14. Third-party services

SlateGauge relies on third-party infrastructure, hosting, authentication, storage, artificial-intelligence, payment and other service providers. Their systems may process data as described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated as the service changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

16. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be submitted through the SlateGauge Support page.
